Editorial standards

This page documents the rules Korea Glow Notes follows when deciding what to cover, what to say, and what to leave out. It applies to every review and every roundup on the site.

Independence

• We do not accept payment for coverage. Not from brands, not from retailers, not from PR agencies.
• We do not accept gifted product for review. If a product on our shelf came from a brand PR box (rare), it will not be reviewed.
• We do not do "sponsored posts", "advertorials", "brand partnerships", "seeded reviews", or affiliate-first coverage. Coverage decisions come before, and are independent of, any monetization decision.
• Where we link to a retailer for a reader's convenience, that link may in the future carry an affiliate tag. If so, it will be disclosed on the same page, before the link. See Affiliate Disclosure.

Sourcing

• Every factual claim in a review — rating, review count, price, ingredients, format, brand — must trace back to a public source we can point to. See How we rate for the specific platforms.
• We attribute ratings to the platform ("4.6★ from 1,271 reviews on Olive Young Global") rather than presenting an unattributed composite. Numbers without provenance are numbers we don't trust either.
• Ingredient callouts refer to a manufacturer-published INCI list or the retailer's product page. We do not guess ingredients from packaging photos.
• Prices reflect what we most recently saw and can shift; the last-checked date is on each review page.

Voice and claims

• We summarize what Korean reviewers say. We do not quote individual reviewers verbatim, and we do not reproduce whole reviews from any platform.
• We make cosmetic claims only: hydrates, soothes, brightens the look of, evens the look of, holds under makeup. We do not make medical or therapeutic claims — a cream does not treat, cure, or prevent acne, eczema, rosacea, hyperpigmentation, or aging. If a brand markets those claims, we treat them as brand claims and note that they are unverified.
• We flag real drawbacks even when the overall rating is high. A 4.8★ product that Korean reviewers say breaks down in humidity or clings to dry patches will say so in our review.
• We do not write about products in categories where our data is thin, and we do not pad reviews to hit a word count.

Use of AI

Draft summaries and verdicts on this site are assembled with the help of a large language model. Human editorial choices govern which products are covered, which sources are trusted, and which claims are safe to make. Every generated draft passes an automated factual-consistency check against the source data — every number in the published text must appear in the source data, or the draft is regenerated. Reviews that cannot pass this check are held back rather than published.

We do not use AI to invent user experiences, fabricate reviewer quotes, generate before-and-after imagery, or produce claims not grounded in aggregate data. If we describe how a product feels on the skin, we are summarizing what many Korean reviewers reported — not describing a personal test.

Photography

• Product images are the retailer's official product photograph, credited to the retailer.
• We do not use AI-generated product renders.
• Any image a rights-holder objects to will be replaced within 48 hours of a good-faith notice via our contact page. See Image policy.

Corrections

• Substantive errors — a wrong rating, a mistranslated ingredient, an incorrect price — are corrected as soon as we're notified.
• A short correction note is appended to the bottom of the affected page describing what changed and when.
• We do not silently rewrite past reviews to match new positions.

Privacy and data handling

We do not require an account to read the site. We use Vercel Analytics (privacy-preserving, cookieless) to measure aggregate page views. We do not sell, share, or resell reader data. See Privacy Policy.

If you believe a review misrepresents a product, a source, or Korean sentiment, please write to us. We read every message and reply to substantive corrections. See also About and How we rate.
